I've been working remote for a while now and I've come across a lot of free (or very low cost) tools to help communicate with your peers or your clients. Here are a few of my favorite web meeting tools in no particular order:

1. Whereby.com - A great FREE web-based tool. No downloads necessary. It's a great tool to use in a pinch and I don't think there is a time limit. You can access via web, iOS, Android. Here's what comes with the free version:

• Custom URL
• Custom and unique URL for your rooms.
• whereby.com/yourname
• Up to 4 Participants
• Desktop & Mobile Access
• Secure Conversations
• Screen Sharing
• Lock Rooms
• YouTube integration
• Open YouTube videos to play for everyone in the room.

2. Jitsi Meet - This is an open-source platform where you can even live stream your web meeting to YouTube. Again, totally FREE and can be accessed on basically any device. Outside of this being 100% free with no limitations, here are some other features:

• Share your desktop, presentations, and more
• Invite users to a conference via a simple, custom URL
• Edit documents together using Etherpad
• Pick fun meeting URLs for every meeting
• Trade messages and emojis while you video conference, with integrated chat.

3. Microsoft Teams - This is more of a Slack alternative with a web meeting feature built into it. No need to upgrade to get the web meeting feature. The one downside is that you have to have a Microsoft Account to sign up. Teams has many of the same features as Slack, but here are a few that are worth mentioning in the free version:

• Unlimited number of users
• Unlimited chat messages and search
• Online audio and video calls
• Background blur
• Microsoft Teams data encryption at rest and in transit

4. Uberconference - I've used this tool for a while now, but I use it more for the audio conferencing feature and sometimes for screen-sharing. Nothing "fancy", but a clean interface and you can get your own custom url that you can send out when scheduling a call. The biggest downside to this tool is that the free version only gives you 45 minutes. Here are the features included in the free version:

• Unlimited conferences
• Screen Sharing
• Call Recording
• HD Quality Audio
• Mobile Apps
• HD Video

5. Google's Hangouts Meet - This is currently my "go-to" for web meetings and conference calls simply because it's already integrated with my Google Calendar and my Gmail (Gsuite). It's simple to use, but you do have to have a Gsuite account to be able to use it. (You can invite non-Gsuite users to meetings, but you'll have to have a Gsuite account to setup the meeting).

• Built-in Google Docs, Slide, Sheets Integration
• Up to 100 Participants (Basic Version)

I know there are hundreds of different tools out there, but these are the tools that I am currently using or have used in the past and I comfortable recommending. I've got many other tools and resources that I've used in the past that have helped me remain efficient/productive while working remote.
